Knoda Secures Investment from University of Missouri Students

Allen Angel Capital Education Program Invests $50,000 in Prediction-Tracking Startup

Knoda (NODE-uh) announced Wednesday that the startup has secured $50,000 in funding from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business through the school’s unique Allen Angel Capital Education (AACE) Program.

“We chose Knoda for this investment because we really believe in what they’ve created,” AACE co-President Alex Wood said. “It’s been fun to see Kyle and James using their predictions app and interacting with the community. We’ve enjoyed watching Knoda grow as a company and we are pleased to partner with them on their continued growth.”

The Allen Angel Capital Education Program is a cross-disciplinary, student-managed angel investment fund that allows undergraduate and graduate students from the Trulaske College of Business to learn angel and venture capital investment strategies through the first-hand experience of investing in high-growth start-up companies.

“We are so thrilled to partner with the students of AACE and accept their investment,” Knoda co-founder & CEO Kyle Rogers said. “Hearing lectures about investing is one thing, but listening to pitches, doing due diligence and committing funds is another animal entirely. We’re happy to play a small part in the education process for these students.”

Knoda, a graduate of the SparkLabKC accelerator, has now raised $400,000 to date and employs five full-time. Knoda and AACE representatives first met in September of 2013 through a connection at SparkLabKC. The team traveled to Columbia, Mo. to further present Knoda’s capabilities and start due diligence in October.

Knoda launched on iOS in December. The team released web and Android functionality in January and March, respectively. To sign up for Knoda, visit Knoda.com/start from your device of choice.
