Six new companies joined the Sandbox cohort, including the first startups to receive funding through the new Energy Sandbox and as part of the Sandbox’s partnership with the City of Independence, Missouri.
Digital Sandbox KC wrapped up 2016 with two new companies for the Sandbox. Both startups are using innovative technology to get people “moving,” addressing the onerous task of hiring a moving company and using hip hop to encourage physical activity.
While the echoes of Kansas City TechWeek are still fresh, <a href="http://www.digitalsandboxkc.com/">Digital Sandbox KC</a> proudly announces four new innovative companies for the Sandbox. These latest recipients of proof-of-concept support are working on challenges in trucking, nursing retention, identity verification and no-shows.
The 65 proof-of-concept projects funded by Digital Sandbox KC in the past three years have created a total of 339 jobs with a payroll of $9 million; 34 new KC-based companies; and 55 new products.

Six additional companies joined Digital Sandbox KC in December, bringing the number of proof-of-concept projects funded to 20 for 2015. The newest recruits are Training for REAL, Miles, UpDown NightLife, PlanITimpact, Edcoda and League Ally.
